Good Morning! Summer days are passing quickly. Ready for a break in the hot, humid weather, but not ready for it to start getting dark earlier again. I would never make it in Alaska. It wouldn’t just be the cold that bothered me but the long stretches of darkness that they have. I want my sunlight!
What is your favorite season? Summer is my favorite, for the beach calls my name! Its voice is slowly getting louder and closer.
Enjoy the quotes and have a good day thinking about whatever makes you happy!
Love 7, and 8 was the kind of kids roundabout my great gran fell off!!

I never fell off but I did get very dizzy! Though it was fun to feel the wind when going fast. 🙂

Great gran was in her 80s and Gramps told her to act her age. She was defiant and got back on!

Good for her! 🙂
And, I want my sunlight too… it’s bright and sunny here today, and I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

Yep, only two more months of summer. Then we get something that is sort of like autumn for a while.
I like the C. S. Lewis quote

Fall never lasts long enough before turning too cold for me!
Glad you liked the C.S. Lewis one. I actually replaced another one with that one for it just jumped out at me at the last minute.

One of Betsy’s tricks, I presume.

I’ll go with #6, too. I think it applies well to poisons like coffee and wine.

I knew you would jump on that one even though you are wrong. 🙂
And oh, so when is this supposed poetry post that you are working on going to be posted?

I don’t know. My feet are feeling a little cold. Maybe it’s best not to post it.

I didn’t know you felt so worried and anxious about this. I can post a retraction, if you’d like.

No no, i am fine! I wasn’t worried! The curiosity was getting the best of me and I was seriously laughing as I read it and calling you a Smart Ass! 😛

You had warned me….I just didn’t listen. I don’t give in to blackmail, remember. 🙂 i knew the “elves” would repay me for my “kindness” to them someday! 😄

I did warn you, that’s for sure. But then you had Snowball shoveling reindeer shit, and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I cracked. I broke. I had to take action. No more Mr. Nice Guy.
I hope you’ve learned your lesson.

Learned my lesson? I wouldn’t count on it! After all….Colin doesn’t have anymore poems! 😛

On another topic, I have been watching a 5 year old girl start kindergarten online via Zoom. It has to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

summer by far is my favorite season…
loved number 10…
and for number 8, I remember it well, but our middle son remembers it much better. He was thrown off one at our local park when he was about 8 or 10 years old and had to go to the hospital…

Sorry, just replying now. May have been a little distracted by a certain blog yesterday. LOL!
I can easily see why summer is your favorite season! 🙂
Oh gosh about your son! Hopefully he wasn’t hurt too badly, was he afraid to get on another one after that?

4. Sounds like something my dad would have said.
Autumn. I just wish it lasted a little longer.
And that picture at the top, though I’d probably have forgotten about stuff on the railing because I’m in the water.

My Dad would say Number 4 as well!
Ahh! You love the water? I like to wade in the water but am more a beach person listening to the waves!

My dad would always say, “What’s the worst that could happen?”
Once I replied, “We could all die!”
And he said, “Sō sureba… shinpai suru hito wa imasen.” (“Then… no one left to worry.)
Spent altogether too much time on the local beaches as a teen.

Oh, I don’t know if you can spend too much time on the beach. LOL! I wasn’t on the beach a lot as a teen but its my favorite place now!!

Yes, an “optimist”. I think he felt that just by being alive, he’d already won the lottery. And he spent his winnings well.
We lived near the coast in the US. At point, just a few blocks from a beach. It was a convenient distraction.

That is great about your Dad!
I long to live close to the beach, maybe someday. We live about 4 and 1/2 hours away. I am happy to at least be that close.

I’ll forget that I can walk down the street to a beach… but it’s a lake. No waves to surf… unless there’s a blizzard. Windsurfers on windy days… but that’s beyond my skill.

Well… I’ve told that it beyond mine too. My nickname with the lifeguards at the local beach was, “The Pearl-Diver”, supposedly because I tended to end rides head first. (There was more to it.)

Summer was my favorite season before we moved to Florida.
Now I like Spring and Fall best because the temps are still summer-ish, but there’s less humidity.

If we got proper Alpine snow then it would be winter. Not currently as we just get storms and rain.
