“Take Me Home Country Roads…” is playing right now, which gave me the inspiration for this post.
If you were traveling along a road, where would you like it to take you to? Lovely Cottonwood Trees line the road. The whipporwill is singing as you walk and you hear the water flowing in the creek that runs along the side of the road. There is a bend coming in the road. Do you turn left or right? What happens, what lies around the bend?
You tell me, and I will add to your adventure if you would like me to. For who really knows what lies around the bend? How many little adventures can we get? 🙂
I’ll take a peek with you. I see a family camping at the foot hills. I watch with pleasure as I see members of all sizes contributing to the work that needs. One picks up trash; one carries some water; one is taking something to the car; or, and what is that? One child in a wheelchair is reading to …..

to a gray haired Tabby cat that is curled up in their lap purring contently at the story but also hoping that the child will give him some food. There is also an Owl high up in a tree watching with great interest at everything going on. Soon the cat gets sleepy, time for its 10th nap of the day, and his eyes close as the child reads on.
Thanks for taking a peek with me. 🙂

If there is a bend in the road, I would go in whichever direction the bend goes. To do anything else sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Would you (for example) turn right on a left hand bend?

I’m with Colin. I’ll just take the bend. And around that bend sits a police dragnet. I quickly put on my Groucho Marx nose and moustache. I fish around in my front pocket for my fake ID, and quickly swap out my real ID. Wait a second. I see a furrowed brow on one of the police officers in the distance. Did he notice what I was doing with my wallet?

I watched as he nonchalantly walked over towards me. He reached inside his jacket (what was he going to do?) … and pulled out two ids and held them out towards me so I could read them. Then he said, with a big smile “Hey Groucho! Look! I’ve got two as well!”

I’m a little confused with this. I think I should have taken that other fork in the bend.

Suddenly the skies opened up and there was a torrential downpour on the 2 Nuts who were still staring at each other with their fake IDs.
They turned around to get back in their cars but were aghast when they realized the doors were locked and the keys were lying on the seat. They helplessly stared at each other and started walking down the road, hoping they would find some place to take shelter. There was a loud thunder crack which caused them both to jump as they walked a little faster!

Nonsense! Brazil is where the nuts are, and we are not in Brazil!

Oh dear! Well let me fix that terrible error.
“The rain was coming down harder and harder and the 2 Nuts were starting to feel feeble and walk slower when they noticed a big sign that read, WELCOME to Brazil! The land of NUTS!
Smiles alighted their faces! “Look at that, the land of NUTS, we will fit right in!” they said in unison. 🙂

They take cover amongst the old oak trees blanketing the forest along the winding country roads. After a few minutes of walking through the woods, they realize there’s something different about this forest…this forest alive! They’d walked through a portal into the Ancient Forest of Enlightenment.

Joyroses, did someone take over your blog. Perhaps you need two ids.

When I got to the fork, I saw a giant mushroom.
On it perched a Hookah Smoking Caterpillar.
“Hmm . . . curious and curiouser.”
From a floating smile, the Cheshire Cat emerged.
I asked the Cat and the Caterpillar, “Which way should I go?”
The Cat just grinned.
The Caterpillar started to chat, rather randomly.
I decided I was already exactly where I needed to be . . . so I sat to chat with the Cat and the Caterpillar.
And never reached the bend in the road.

You really should read the Comments!
1. There was a hookah smoking caterpillar.
2. There was a white rabbit.
3. There was a voice shouting in the distance “OFF WITH HER HEAD!”
What else would Grace Slick likely do? Duh!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll take the bend toward the mountain in the mist. I’m drawn to smoke coming out of a chimney where I know there is a warm fire, a cuddly cat and hot chocolate. 🙂

Take a right and head past the meadow where purple flowers are in full bloom. Just ahead is a gravel road that slowly creeps and winds past twigs and branches. A path to nowhere, yellow flowers and fallen trees. Hills of green pasture peak and wane, shadows land on hills and valleys as clouds slowly pass by the blue of a pristine sky. It is here that you remember, time does not stand still, but nature always watches.

Hehe, yesterday’s trying to play a bit of ketchup in between household chores…it’s nice because I do a chore then read a few posts and keep alternating like that. It makes the chores more fun knowing I have something to look forward to as a reward for accomplishing a task!😁

You really do need a new road because the one in the original story did not have a fork in it … just a bend! 🙂
