Happy Tuesday! So it took a little longer this morning due to the fact that the WP new editor found me! What do I think of it? Lets just say I need more coffee! I did see something where you can download the classic editor and stick with it. So hopefully I can figure that out or else will just figure this out. Either way, I am happy that I at least could post. Now I am ready for some Strawberry pie. My husband made me one yesterday, and it is very good! What is your favorite pie? Go ahead and grab your favorite snack, while reading the following quotes. Make your mind and stomach smile!

I am not very adventurous on dessert food. Excess sweetness makes me cringe a bit.
When I have got to Malaysia I have been very adventurous on food, but that is usually spicy sea food.

You haven’t tried strange seafood have you? Like octopus, snails, frog legs??
LikeLiked by 2 people
Yes, no, yes.
When in was at restaurants in Malaysia there were often unidentifiable sea critters on my plate. I didn’t ask a lot of stupid questions and just ate my dinner.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh gosh! You are a braver than me! Did you like the octopus and frog legs?
LikeLike
I can say that frog legs are very good. Taste like chicken in a way but, I wouldn’t necessarily classify that as seafood, tho… My favorite seafood is soft shell crab. It’s interesting to eat one in a sandwich with all the legs hanging out. Conch is good, too, which is close to a snail. If octopus or squid are over cooked, you might as well be chewing on a rubberband. Do you like clams, oysters or sushi?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh crab is good but eating with the legs hanging out! No thanks! I prefer the crab meat out of the shell. LOL!
I went out on a first date once and the guy ordered crab legs for me. He was trying to impress me, it was a fancy restaurant BUT he was a half hour late and so by the time we got to the restaurant I was starving! I didn’t know what to expect but you should have seen my face when the food came. He showed me the nut cracker to use to crack the long legs hanging over my plate. It was too much work for the little bit of meat and I kept splattering my face with the juice. I wasn’t impressed. LOL!
I do like clams and oysters. Shrimp is my favorite. Sushi I did not like when I first tried it. The texture made me gag. But my son convinced me to try a different kind and it was really good.
LikeLike
I could go to town on crab legs. I prefer snow crab. King crab has a lot of spines…hard to get into. I love shrimp, too.
Eating raw tuna or salmon the first time is a little disconcerting. Some sushi doesn’t have raw fish in it.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I know a lot of people love them but I think that one bad experience just did it for me. Splattering yourself with juice isn’t how you want to impress a date. And the little bit of meat that I was slowly getting as I cracked the legs wasn’t filling me up very fast! 🙂

Okay, you open the WP Admin, which takes you to the Dashboard. Open “All Posts.” This shows a list of all the posts you’ve recently posted. There’s an “Add New” button at the top, to the right of the word “Posts.” There’s a Down Arrow to the right of that, indicating a drop-down menu. Click on the Down Arrow, and down will drop a list of choices between the Classic Editor and the Schtupid New Editor. Click on Classic Editor.

No, go way to the left side of the screen, to the large word “Posts.” To the right of that word is “Add New.” To the right of that is a black, upside-down triangle. A triangle is a three-sided geometrical design. Click on the triangle.

I’ve seen the notices of them pushing the block editor but, I always ignore it.

Exactly! I was just getting ready to explain that to Tippy. Click on the “Add new” and the Classic Editor will come up. 🙂

I think it won’t have an arrow until you try the Block Editor. Then you’ll be defaulting to the Block Editor, and the only way to get out of it will be to use that arrow, which will magically appear.
LikeLiked by 1 person
No arrow magically appeared for me! I just finally clicked on the “Add New” button and the Classic Editor popped up.

Huh. Well one day when you start defaulting to the Block Editor, look for that magical arrow. That’s what happened to me.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, I was confused too! It has defaulted to the Block Editor or maybe they are just giving me a trial period? When I click on write new post, its the Block Editor. But if I go into the WP Administration like you were telling me to and click on All posts and then the Add New button where the mysterious arrow was supposed to be , the Classic Editor pops up. Its not full screen but I can still post from there. Try it and you will see what I mean.

No, when I click on the Add New button, I get the Block Editor. I have to use the magical arrow. Maybe I get the magic arrow because I’m paying for the Premium Plan, which makes me dubiously special.

I have a premium plan, too but, I always get the Classic Editor. When did you start your blog?
LikeLiked by 1 person
About five years ago. But the arrow thing just started about three or four months ago. I was playing with the Block Editor for about an hour, trying to see if it was something I might want to use. But after I finished with it I couldn’t find the Classic Editor anymore, until I noticed the arrow with the drop-down box. So maybe there’s something in the programming that gets triggered if you stay inside the Block Editor too long.

I was blogging before I was on FakeBook. When FB showed up, I was living in Texas and I never grasped what it was for. I had gone a few rounds with MySpace and it got boring, quick. I wound up with a FB presence to communicate with classmates (Oct. 2009 was our 25th reunion) and what few family members were on it at the time.
I was a political animal when I started blogging. That got old. I shut it down and started over.

“Fakebook” LOL! That is why I use FB, to communicate with far away friends and family, but it can drive me crazy at times!
Politics is something I mostly stay away from , basically because stirring up controversy is not something I enjoy! I don’t mind debating with someone IF they can handle things in a mature way.

There’s something about trying it, where they make it hard to find the Classic again. I don’t know why they push it like that. I wonder what’s in it for them, to try to force the Block Editor on us.

Brad thinks it might somehow be saving them money, but I wouldn’t know how. But that would be an incentive for them.

Both editors and all of WP is programmed in PHP & Javascript…the same with FakeBook. Redesigns are one of two things…(1) suggestions or demands from customers (why doesn’t it do THIS?) or (2) because they want their platform to look & act like everything else…polished…all under the guise of “improving” the experience. People want more & more from their websites…bells, whistles, pretty things and MORE functionality. More functionality means more code. And, here at WP, the more they tweak, the more they break things.
LikeLike
Programming and trying to make everything uniform. The block editor in a browser resembles the block editor on the phone. It’s progress for the sake of progress. It’s all programmed in PHP & Javascript…except the phone. It’s in Java.

Well, it dumbs down WP and reduces us all to the common denominator of computer semi-illiterate. I prefer the flexibility of the Classic Editor, even if it requires some application of brains to figure out.
