5 A guessing game for you. What personal significance does the number 19,478 have to me?
6. Another year is almost over, and one of the best facts is that I have amazing followers! Thank you for reading my stories and encouraging me in my writing. Some of you I have had the privilege of meeting face to face, but whether I met you or not, the fact that wonderful friendships have been developed can’t be denied. It’s a priceless fact! Happy New Year!May the friendships continue. ❤️
1. What a clever way to keep kids from complaining about getting clothes for Christmas.
2. The smarter ones pooled their money and hired a literacy teacher.
3. Commies.
4. It’s been that way ever since a cargo ship sank offshore, carrying laundry detergent.
5. 19,478 is how many days, months, or years old you are.
6. If you have met me face-to-face, then I feel a little frightened. But thanks for being such a great online friend. And Happy New Year!

Haha! Yes, they probably beg for clothes.
Pretty sure that would cost even more, but they may have!
😶✋️!
Pfffffftt! BUZZ! Wrong answer.
No need to feel frightened… Yet! 😉
Thanks to you too! Even if my head has “suffered” with being your friend. LOL! Happy New Year!

19,478 is exactly how many beans in a jar, that you guessed for the correct answer in a contest.

Good guess but no. 😄

I should clarify that you may be close with days and my age, but definitely not years, doolally!

Umm…you weren’t right! Sorry to burst your bubble. I wasn’t talking about age but it may have to do with books. 😉

Okay then, 19,478 is the most words you’ve ever read in a book.

Try the total of pages this year.

I feel dubious. There are 8,760 hours in a year. So this amounts to reading a little over 2 words per hour. No way.

Not fair…you gave the answer before I could guess! Surely there’s a consolation prize? So happy to have shared stories, comments and laugh in 2023 with you. Looking forward to entertaining you in 2024. Happy New Year, Carolyn! We so appreciate your friendship.

Perhaps it’s 19,478 books you have sold?, or perhaps you have 19,478 books at home?
LikeLiked by 1 person
LOL! I wish I had sold that many! And I don’t have enough bookcases for that many books. 😂
But you were on the right track with books. Its the number of pages I have read this year. 🙂

I couldn’t begin to count the number of pages I’ve read, but I’ve read close to 150 books.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, trust me I didn’t count the pages! I am on GoodReads and they have an app to keep track of the books you read all year and at the end of the year they tally up everything for you.
Wow on 150 books!!! I read 61.

I’m on Goodreads too. Otherwise I wouldn’t have a clue as to how many I’ve read. My goal originally was 80, but I upped it to 120 and then surpassed that. Part of the reason I read so much more than usual is because I pretty much quit watching TV when the regular season ended, followed by the strikes. I haven’t seen the analysis of how many pages I’ve read.

Tv can take up a lot of time! Maybe you will reach 200 next year. 🙂 What kind of books do you like?
LikeLiked by 1 person
200 is far, far beyond my reach. My 2024 goal is currently set to 100 📚. My 2023 page count was 52,365!
I read a variety of genres. Romantic suspense mostly, but I also enjoy some historical fiction, thrillers, police/FBI procedural, K-9/SAR suspense, cozy mysteries. Some of my favorite authors are Nora Roberts/J. D. Robb (love Eve Dallas), Allison Brennan, Jana DeLeon (especially her Miss Fortune books), Robyn Carr, Colleen Coble, and Mary Higgins Clark

I really enjoy historical fiction and cozy mysteties and romance of course. 🙂 and inspirational books. Collen Coble is really good. Have you ever read Ted Dekkers suspense/mystery books?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I read one of Dekker’s books but couldn’t really get in to his style of writing. Have you read Nineteen Steps by Millie Bobby Brown? Set in WWII London. I gave it five stars and I don’t give those out easily.

Understand about Dekker. No, I haven’t read Nineteen Steps. I have read many WW 2 historical fiction books

I have no doubt you would love it. For some reason, the WWII era is one of my favorite eras to read about. However, the last one I read – Keeper of the Hidden Books – was a big fail. Too dark in tone overall.
There are several on Goodreads with your name. Do you live in Tennessee?

Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂
No, I don’t live in TN . I was there twice a long time ago. I am farther north, Pennsylvania.

Oh, I thought it might be more than one book, but I find it mildly disturbing that you counted all the pages…

Let me assure you that I did NOT count all the pages. LOL! GoodReads is a reading app that keeps track of how many books you read all year long. At the end of the year, it tally’s up everything. How many pages. Longest book, shortest book, etc. Does that make you feel better now. 🙂

As long as I lived at home, all birthday and Christmas gifts would include at least one box that contained clothing. That became a little less exciting once I was a teen I didn’t necessarily like what my mother picked out.
I’ve read 167 books in 2023. I don’t bother with books that have less than 200 pages because I like stories that I can sink my teeth into. Even assuming that each book only had 200 pages, I have read a lot of words!
Ah, yet another reason to adore Brad Paisley and his wonderful wife, Kimberly.

Congrats! That is a lot of books! I hit 61. The number of pages you read would be crazy high!
I do like longer books but there are short books that have been powerful to me and long ones which sbould have been shorter. Don’t drag out the story just to add pages to your novel, etc. A long winded book I have problems finishing. The one that sticks in my mind as an example is Wuthering Heights!
