The Wire was a renowned award winning HBO series that looked at the drug scene in Baltimore through the eyes of law enforcers as well as the drug dealers and users. Intense but extremely well acted, this was a remarkable series created and written by former police reporter, David Simon. It has been noted that it was a series that explored race, poverty and ‘the death of the American working class.’ Gritty but so well done. It’s not like anything you’ll find on the Hallmark channel (which is nice entertainment but completely unrealistic).
Thanks for the information! Sounds like an intense series! And yes, definitely not something one would find on Hallmark. Hallmark is for when you want to pretend you are in a perfect world and living in fantasy land. 😊
Hmmmm….. how far would I ride a bike for a prospective bride? Probably not more that a few blocks.

Its not the bride’s fault that you can’t bike far. So you would walk all the way instead? Thats impressive. 🙂

I hope he rode a tandem bike, so he could haul his new bride back to India.

I figured that she’d do most of the pedaling going back

Are you kidding? It’s cold in Sweden. I doubt he wants a frigid bride.

Some great stories here. I was particularly taken with Jefferson’s linguistic abilities, given that 45 struggled even to speak English…

Yup, total pretend fantasy on Hallmark. Which tends to make realists more than slightly cynical. 🙂
