Reclined on couch with a mystery novel late last night… Couldn’t put it down until I finished it …. Wish I could solve the mysteries of life like that … Just read to the end of the book … What answers do you have to life’s mysteries?
You can only help a person so much … Some things they have to do on their own
If you were an elf in Santa’s workshop and inventing the most popular gift for Christmas, what would it be ?
Oh my goodness.
It is one in the morning here.
And you expect me to think.
An aid to deal with fools would be a good start!

I was going to say a bottle of wine. That meets your criteria too.

Haha! Sleep well!
That would be a complex thing to make. 😄

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been reading a good book, usually in bed at night, and had the book or Kindle hit me in the face before I gave up and went to sleep.
If such a thing could be invented, I would invent a button/pin people could wear that would warn them of danger, particularly when a gunman is near.

I was getting sleepy but I just had to know how it ended. LOL!
That would be a wonderful invention!

I’d invent a robotic bank to encourage savings.

A smart idea! Everything is turning robotic these days, so you never know.

For my answers to life’s mysteries, read my book, “Chasing Unicorns.” https://unicorniks.files.wordpress.com/2021/06/chasingunicorns.pdf
But if you read my book, please understand that it can only help so much. The rest you have to do on your own.
If I had to invent the most popular gift for Christmas, it certainly wouldn’t be my book.

An interesting group of items over which to ponder. I have no answer on the mysteries of life and, to be honest, I don’t want to know. Imagine discovering them and being disappointed with what you learn, then having to live the rest of your life with that knowledge??
I’m particularly guilty of trying to help people too much. It’s hard to watch loved ones making mistakes and not want to help them avoid the pitfalls. I have to remind myself that some of the most important lessons I’ve learned in life have come from the mistakes I made.
I don’t believe that any of us can know what the most “popular” gift would be. As humans, we too quickly grow tired of the tangible items in front of us and always want more and/or better. An example would be someone who always has to rush out and pre-order the newest smartphone due to come out to the market, regardless of the fact that the one we have, which was the newest one 18 months ago, still works perfectly well.

Great answers. Yes, some things are meant to be mysteries. They are too much for our finite brains to be able to comprehend.
Understand, helping is something I like to do as well, but yet there is only so much we can do. And you are so right! We hate to see our loved ones go through painful times but they can be growing times.
Oooh how true about the phones and how our satisfaction level changes so quickly. Not for me though. I hate changing phones and having to learn how a new one works!

I’m using an iPhone 7 that was the new model back in 2016 (I bought it early in 2017)! However, despite replacing the battery once (within the past year), it doesn’t keep a charge. The iPhone 7 is no longer available, so I’m procrastinating having to buy a “newer” phone!

Good luck with getting a new one.

I’m sure the iPhone 7 is no longer supported either. I had a similar issue with my Galaxy S7, which I loved, but they quit updating and supporting it, so I was forced to change. I love the Samsung Android phones, so ended up buying another. I would never pay the price for an iPhone.

Samsung androids are what I have had, don’t want anything more complicated. My kids keep telling me and my husband that iPhones are better.

Nothing quite like being immersed in a good book (especially a mystery). The only downside is reaching the end. Especially if you thought it was the butler who did it. Happy belated Thanksgiving.

I know! I kept saying how I needed to get to bed but. …. ! And no this time the butler didn’t do it. LOL!

Wait!!!!! No more spoilers! I haven’t reached the end yet! Well, at least I can quit focusing on the butler (who is – well, was – on my list of suspects!

Same here, except it was a fantasy novel, and I was wondering how the demon would get killed, etc. I finished reading the book early enough that I didn’t lose sleep 🙂
