Happy Tuesday! Fall temps are in the air! Time to get out the oversized sweaters, and hoodies. Cozy clothes, to wear while sitting by a campfire, roasting S’mores. I am hoping that Fall can stay longer than a week or 2, before the temps drop too low!
Its been years ago now, but I will never forget a resident in the nursing home that I worked in before. She loved sitting in the lobby greeting everyone that came through the door. She was also always sure to let you know what she thought when cooler weather came. It was B-R-R-R!
Enjoy the quotes and have a great day!

I’ll go with Winston Churchill, #6. Nobody really gives a damn, and that can be a good thing.

If I cared what people thought, I’d probably have to cancel my blog. Fortunately, nobody ever thinks about it.

You will bake like a ham in the Hill Country. Trust me. And, I never could figure out why every house in that area was built with a fireplace.

Oh I love fireplaces, but… yes, what is the lowest that it gets in Texas?

In Austin, it freezes a few times a year, but nothing bad. Mid 20s maybe. Mostly mild

I could definitely handle a Texas winter!! Though I do like the beauty of the snow.

It’s mostly gray here in the winter. I miss having a little snow each year when I liven in Tulsa.

Yes gray days get long but if I had a fireplace to gaze into it wouldn’t be as bad.

That can’t be good for your retinas.

I think my retinas would be fine, but we don’t have a fireplace so yes, they are safe!

Though I do sometimes find the app on Tv that has a fireplace blazing and you can even hear the crackling sounds a fire makes. I gaze at that . 🙂

Welllllllllll…that depends upon what part of Texas you are in. In Amarillo, it gets really cold and snowy. Ditto Lubbock and Wichita Falls. And, you’ll probably see some around Texarkana. The farther you head south, the less you see.
I lived just north of Austin from 2002-2011 and, in all that time, I saw two ice storms and one good snow. The weirdest one was hearing about Houston getting snow…one of those years.
And, when they do get the frozen stuff…imagine a city the size of Austin shutting completely down. They block off all of their flyovers. They do not have the ability to salt, sand or scrape much. It doesn’t happen enough for them to invest money into such things.

I can imagine that would shut a city down when you aren’t prepared for it!
It takes a lot here to shut totally shut down in fact the last time I remember was when we had big storm in 1993! Cops were making people go to hotels if they were on the road!

I imagine PA gets its share of the white stuff. It’s hit or miss here in NC. I remember more snow as a kid in the 70s.

It varies here. I remember getting more snow as a kid too! The past 2 yesrs have been pretty mild so we may get dumped on this year. One year we got 3 feet in one weekend! It was crazy! My husband has relatives who live in Asheville and yes its hit or miss there too with snow.

Yeah. Our mountains will get more than we will in the Piedmont area. The coast gets even less.

it’s been BRRRRR here for the last few days. We usually refuse to turn on the heat in September, but had to give in. Love all the quotes except for Oscar’s. Hey, I worked hard for this fiction. 🙂 xo

LOL! I wondered who would comment first about that quote! I knew I was taking a chance with that one but I did have to laugh at its truth! Though with me….I prefer the extra sleep compared to getting up extra early to put my “face” on. 🙂

At first, I wanted to be insulted. Then, I thought about it. Yeah…those lashes, eyebrows and hair color are not REAL, there, sister. LOL!

That was my first reaction too, I thought HEY! And then …. I had to laugh for he has a point! Yes, my hair color may not be real, but its close to the real color. . Its not red like I did a few times. My husband liked the red.

I never could color my hair worth damn. It is so dark and course that most products never took. The best I could do was a lot of HP in certain areas and that just made it dreadfully dry. I gave up.
I once used a box of Summer Blonde when I was 16, then got a perm afterward. FRIED hair. I never tried that, again.

My hair takes the color fine, but I am noticing it doesn’t last as long as it used too!
