Those who Care …

My heart goes out to the police right now. Especially to the families of the ones that have recently lost their lives, due to the rioting going on. YES, what happened to George Floyd was HORRIBLE, BUT…. that doesn’t make all police bad! They aren’t responsible for the bad cops that are out there! There are so many good cops around and for that I am very grateful and I can’t imagine having a job where my my life may be on the line someday!

I have so much appreciation for the cop who dealt with my daughter’s case a few years ago. I have mentioned about it before in my posts, the nightmare with my her sexual abuse case. It was a long process, the whole investigation and court trial. No one ever wants to have to go through something like that! But I can tell you that having a cop who was so compassionate, caring, patient and had a great sense of humor, helped so much! We were blessed and he remains our friend today.

Don’t let some horrible cops tarnish the profession where there really are those who are dedicated to upholding the law and protecting their citizens the best they can! Ones who truly care and have a wonderful heart!

  1. I’m with you on this. I’m not a big fan of law enforcement, as I don’t like many of the laws that are enforced (war on drugs, especially). But they have lives and families, and most try to do their jobs conscientiously. Blaming them all for the actions of a few will only backfire against the protesters, who otherwise have an important message.

  2. Thank you for this. I have a family member who is a police officer. I think of him daily, and that is when things are “normal.” His police vehicle has been T-boned, he has been spit at, assaulted, and he has put his life on the line every day for years. But he has also helped so many in his community. I have also seen the respect he has earned for his caring and kindness. No, they are not all bad.

  3. I know there are a lot of good cops and a few bad ones spoil their image. But you said “They aren’t responsible for the bad cops that are out there!” I mostly disagree. The good cops have to speak up and keep the bad cop from bringing them all down. Today it seems like they just circle the wagons and ‘protect their own’ when a cop does something wrong. If they don’t clean up their house, who will?

    • I stand corrected, you make a good point. Sadly there are a lot of cops that pretend to not see and yes, “circle the wagon”. They still aren’t responsible for the choices the bad cops make, but if they knowingly let them continue while just looking the other way, then Yes they do share rhe blame! Thanks for your thoughts.

        • Awh! Thanks Jason, appreciate it, but please don’t ever feel bad for disagreeing! We can learn from each other on here! You have a kind heart and I won’t take it the wrong way.
Now if only I could get the beagle/bagel out of my head! I don’t think I can eat a bagel this morning. πŸ˜›
