I saw an article yesterday that caught my attention. One of those moments when you are touched by the hearts of others. A High School Senior had planned ahead and on Valentine’s Day surprised not one or two or three girls with flowers, but all the girls in his entire school! He bought flowers for 170 girls! He simply did it because he did not want girls to be sad as they watched everyone else get flowers. He said how everyone deserves to know that they are special! What a great guy! Have a great day and remember to spread some smiles! You never know who might need them!

Wow, that was a lovely gesture by that young man. Especially impressive in this day of self absorption and narcissism.

Indeed it is! I would love to shake that guy’s hand. The article said that since the story went viral. that he has received messages from older women tellihg him thanks for they were the girl who never got flowers in their HS years.

The high school boy who sent flowers to every girl was simply buying every lottery ticket. He must have got at least a date two out of that ploy.
Don’t sell the sun to buy a candle reminds me on an expression we sometimes have at work about working on something unimportant and letting something important suffer. “you’re stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime.”

Oh gosh! I figured I would hear that explanation about the boy who gave flowers. He probably has a month full of dates, but hey, he still made many girls feel special! 🙂
Ahh! Like that quote too!

You should read the links that Nancy posted. More guys have done the same thing and the one guy already had a girlfriend so he wasn’t doing it to get a date! Some guys just know how to be very sweet! 🙂

Much-needed and much-appreciated! BTW … I referenced this post in my ‘good people’ post for this morning.

My pleasure and thanks! I thought of your “good people” post when I read this. Did you see that another reader left a couple links about this story and other similar ones. Yes, there are still good people around. or that guy is just trying to get some dates, like some have mentioned on here. LOL!

No, I didn’t read the comments on your post, for there were several and I was, as usual, in a time crunch! Yes, there are more good people out there than we know! Thankfully!

Girls should stay away from that boy. He’ll always be trying to please other women, and he’ll never have money.
I dedicate #4 to you. Especially the last line.

Oh I just shake my head! All the women who have commented on the guy think he is great, but leave it to you and Jason and …. LOL!
But yes I do agree with you on Number 4! 🙂 Though hey you never know, I think a movie on the antics at the North Pole or on Frank and George’s antics could make a good comedy!

Generally speaking (which is sure to get me into trouble), I don’t think that women spend enough thought questioning a man’s motives.

LOL! You will be surprised, you aren’t in trouble for I do agree. Some women can be way too trusting! I learned!

What that guy did establishes a bad precedent. It sets the bar way up there. Why couldn’t he have just emailed a photo of a flower to his girlfriend? Real easy. His type makes it hard for the rest of us.
Sure, a story of their antics would make a great movie. Possibly starring the three stooges. But you do have to finish it. That’s key. As I learned in Creative Writing class, every story has a beginning, middle, and END.

Emailing a picture of a flower??? Oh yeah, I am sure that would have gone over real well!!
Yes, could very well star the Three Stooges!
An ending you say? Well of course, who in their right mind wouldn’t write an ending to their story?? 🙂

I have flowers on my table from my hubby. They weren’t emailed to me and its probably a very good thing for him that they weren’t. 🙂 Just saying…

Actually I take back my “no comment”, its not that he hasn’t trained me, its that I have him trained very well!! 🙂

You can’t take back a “no comment”. It makes no sense. If you didn’t comment then there’s nothing to take back.

Did you see Nancy’s links? There are more boys like him! Too sweet! 😉

This proves my point. After one boy does this it starts a precedent. Pretty soon all the boys will think they have to do this. This mass flower-giving practice must be nipped in the bud immediately.

The settings on my blog allow comments with one link to post . . . more links than that in a single comment requires me to approve the comment. That setting keeps “bible thumpers” and other evangelists and people with their own agenda “at bay.” 😆
If I were you, I’d leave your setting “as is.” I didn’t mind the wait.

I love the two quotes about writing, and the one about a 4-year old wearing a batman cape brings back memories of my kids when they were little.
