Friday’s Super Short Stories!

When the “What if’s”, “Would have’s”,  and  “Should have’s” come knocking … turn the music up and don’t answer the door!

A toddler is an expert at the “20 questions” game, but to them its the unlimited questions game!

When laughter is a shining light bulb to the heart!

  1. Toddlers are great at the 20 questions game, but sometimes are 20 questions are the same question. Maybe they didn’t believe me the first 19 times. Maybe they are checking to see if I will change me answer. Maybe they are trying make me tell them to be quiet and go away.

  2. Friday’s Super Short Stories always bring a smile of their own! The first story brings to mind a poem by Shel Silverstein in “Falling Up” : “Woulda – Coulda – Shoulda : All the Woulda – Coulda – Shouldas layin’ in the sun, talkin’ ’bout the things they Woulda – Coulda – Shoulda done…But those Woulda – Coulda – Shouldas all ran away and hid from one little DID.” As for the second story, I can attest to the fact that 20 Questions is a game just as well liked by a 6 year old whose expertise has grown! The third story reminds me of a favorite quote : “Laughter is a sunbeam of the soul” – Thomas Mann. Thank-you!

    • Oh yes, I really like Shel Silverstein’s writings.
      Haha about 6 year olds!
Ahh! Great quote! Thanks for sharing. The quote is so true, for laughter does warm the soul, just like a sunbeam. 🌞

  3. Hmm . . . someone’s knocking at the door.

    What if I ignore them?
What if I just sit here and refuse to answer the door?
What if I turn the music up and turn my thoughts to something else?

    Aah . . . that’s better!

    But wait!
Maybe I should have answered the door?
Maybe if I would have answered the door it would have been something I wanted?
    Like chocolate!

Maybe I should have faced my inertia and hobbled over to the door.
    Maybe I should have . . .

    What if?

  4. LOL! Oh gosh, yeah if someone is at my door with chocolate, I would want them to come in. Or at least just give me the chocolate than they could leave. 🙂
My husband liked hearing this song again, he was more familiar with it than I was.
