Different ideas were going around in my head this morning for a post, but nothing was quite feeling right. Then I came across this short but powerful clip and knew I had my post. It was put together by a group from Sandy Hook Elementary School. That is the school that had a school shooting in 2012 which took the lives of 20 little children and 8 adults! Warning. this video will NOT leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling! I’m sorry.
Is this the new America now, where every day school supplies have now become something much more! Will this be how America stays?
The sad thing is, this ad doesn’t exaggerate. I think it’s a powerful message that can resonate well. Would like to see it on TV rather than just on your blog.

I agree it should be on TV and yes its so sad how real it is! I had tears in my eyes at the end of it. Blogs don’t reach as many people as TV does, but you are welcome to share it on your blog. We can do what we can.

Wow, you mean I can steal your blog idea? I may just do that. Thanks for the unicorn!

Can’t comprehend having a child in school this day and age. Seems the first thing they do is have shooter drills. What?! Ugh.

Yes, my kids have been through shooter drills for the past several years now. Who would have thought schools would have to do that. 😦

It will be this way JR until America puts aside the gun culture, thinking that freedom means having powerful weapons. It does not. That’s hogwash.

What is freedom for kids who now see their schools like a battlefield!?? Its awful!!

Yes, it sure is. And it’s ok to have laws about guns. For example we have traffic laws, such as speed limits, stop signs, and so on – and the reason is to keep people safe! We could do the same for guns. We would still be free and democratic.

I do not know how you came upon this video, but I applaud you for sharing it on your blog. I would like to encourage all Parents, all Grandparents and any other persons that are concerned about protecting all school children’s lives from a tragedy like that of Sandy Hook to join the Sandy Hook Promise. It is a non-profit organization founded by family members of the some of the victims of December 14, 2012. Become involved, purchase items from their store and/or donate to further their programs. As John F. Kennedy said : “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” Please, let’s make sure they have a future! Thank-you!

I love to steal from my blogging buddies. It gives my lame brain a chance to relax.
This is actually a very serious post, contributed by Carolyn, at joyroses13. We’ve agreed that it would be nice to see this on TV. We can’t do that ourselves, but at least we can post it on our blogs.
