Friday’s Super Short Stories!

This post is a little different from my normal Friday’s posts. You may remember that when I was sharing about our vacation to Vancouver that I also mentioned about some secret “gold nuggets” on our trip. Do any of these “stories” from my posts sound familiar?

“The strength of friendship can be like the strongest trees and the JOY of friendship flows through your soul like a ever flowing waterfall!”

“When natureโ€™s beauty isnโ€™t the only beauty that filled your vacation!”

“I have learned that as we travel through lifeโ€™s journey of twists and turns that sometimes we can find gold nuggets in the most unexpected ways that leave a lasting mark on your heart.”

And now for a new “story”!

Co-authors write a book together, but they also can be co-conspirators in keeping a “golden nugget” secret! ๐Ÿ™‚

My family and I had heard that British Columbia was a beautiful place to visit, and that intrigued us, but that wasn’t the reason that we picked to go there this summer. There was a much bigger reason. It was to go visit someone who had grown very dear to me over the past 3 and 1/2 years that we have known each other. Plus not only would my family and I get to meet her face to face, we also would have the pleasure of meeting her Dad. I met her Dad online first, and through him met Melanie. All 3 of us hit it off and a friendship was struck. Out of which came “The Odessa Chronicles”, that Colin and I wrote together.

My family had conversations as well with them over the past years and we all agreed that a trip across the Country to meet them would be great!

Colin and I. If you don’t know Colin at all, you can at least tell by his shirt that HUMOR is an attribute of his! One of the reasons that we hit it off so well. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Oh … I am so jealous!!! You got to meet Colin of Colin & Ray!!! What a delightful time that must have been. I have followed him for quite a while and fell in love with Ray … did you get to meet Ray, too? I’m so glad you had such wonderful ‘nuggets of gold’ on your vacation!

  2. I saw Colin’s post yesterday, but now this confirms it. So you really did meet him? That’s great!

Gold nuggets take on many different shapes and sizes. This one seems rather large and weighty, and very glittery. I’m guessing you will be treasuring it for a long time.

  3. Well, talk about finding the gold nuggets amidst the dirt, sand and pebbles of life…this is a gold mine and I feel like I’ve struck it rich! I must admit that I was somewhat suspicious that your lengthy trip’s destination was to Canada, mostly because of Colin’s lessened posts at the same time, but this is much more than I anticipated. What a marvelous experience and fantabulous memories to keep forever. Beautiful photos of beautiful people, how kind of you to share! Thank-you!

    • Hi Ellen! Great to hear from you. Colin and I wondered if anyone would suspect anything about my trip and I am not surprised that you did my clever friend! Glad we could give you more than you expected though! ๐Ÿ™‚
Yup “fantabulous” is the perfect word to describe everything! Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ’—
