This post is a little different from my normal Friday’s posts. You may remember that when I was sharing about our vacation to Vancouver that I also mentioned about some secret “gold nuggets” on our trip. Do any of these “stories” from my posts sound familiar?
“The strength of friendship can be like the strongest trees and the JOY of friendship flows through your soul like a ever flowing waterfall!”
“When natureโs beauty isnโt the only beauty that filled your vacation!”
“I have learned that as we travel through lifeโs journey of twists and turns that sometimes we can find gold nuggets in the most unexpected ways that leave a lasting mark on your heart.”
And now for a new “story”!
Co-authors write a book together, but they also can be co-conspirators in keeping a “golden nugget” secret! ๐
My family and I had heard that British Columbia was a beautiful place to visit, and that intrigued us, but that wasn’t the reason that we picked to go there this summer. There was a much bigger reason. It was to go visit someone who had grown very dear to me over the past 3 and 1/2 years that we have known each other. Plus not only would my family and I get to meet her face to face, we also would have the pleasure of meeting her Dad. I met her Dad online first, and through him met Melanie. All 3 of us hit it off and a friendship was struck. Out of which came “The Odessa Chronicles”, that Colin and I wrote together.
My family had conversations as well with them over the past years and we all agreed that a trip across the Country to meet them would be great!
The Dynamic Duo, The Chappell Comedy Duo, The Double Trouble Duo ( yes, don’t be fooled by their innocent smiles) ๐
Me and Melanie (a remarkable woman!)
Colin and I. If you don’t know Colin at all, you can at least tell by his shirt that HUMOR is an attribute of his! One of the reasons that we hit it off so well. ๐
A Rose between …. ?? ๐ ๐
Stay tuned … more to come tomorrow!
That. is. so. cool! What a great collaboration and connection. ๐

Oh … I am so jealous!!! You got to meet Colin of Colin & Ray!!! What a delightful time that must have been. I have followed him for quite a while and fell in love with Ray … did you get to meet Ray, too? I’m so glad you had such wonderful ‘nuggets of gold’ on your vacation!

Yup, the one and only!! ๐
Unfortunately didn’t get to meet Ray. Colin flew out to meet us in Vancouver where Melanie was. He has a blog post about it today as well. :).
Yes. Who can not fall in love with Handsome Ray! That would have made it even more special to have been able to meet him! I love his eyes, they just draw you in!

Hey Colin! Tippy said that he needed to confirm with you that we really met. He wants to make sure I am not delusional! Just think, here is your chance to at last be able to say that Nope. I am not delusional. ๐

Photoshop and a good imagination can work wonders eh!

Umm…yes they can but he doesn’t need to know that, for
that answer doesn’t exactly help with the “No,she’s not delusional” part! See the problem! ๐

Nope! What’s the problem?

It’s ok, you just missed a rare opportunity to Agree with me about not being delusional! A shame, isn’t it! But no problem, at least now that you met me, you know that I do indeed speak English. ๐

We met? Somewhere not on the internet?

Oh gosh! What was I thinking, asking you to clarify things for Tippy! You are being soooo helpful.
Oh and the answer to your question is Yes. ๐
Does a gelato shop ring a bell for you?

Oooh yes, you are right! I have never been there, that would be why that wasn’t the one I was talking about. ๐

Here I will make it easy for you. It was the one close to Melanie’s. Does that help ring a bell now? If not, than perhaps I am delusional! ๐คช

I can understand that for yes it could very well be photo shopped just like I could easily be 6ft tall. Makes sense! ๐

It’s nice to see the faces and smiles of Moonbeam Farm’s co-creators. Somehow, it always helps me to be able to envision the writer(s) of tales I enjoy so much.

I saw Colin’s post yesterday, but now this confirms it. So you really did meet him? That’s great!
Gold nuggets take on many different shapes and sizes. This one seems rather large and weighty, and very glittery. I’m guessing you will be treasuring it for a long time.

Yup, we did indeed meet! You aren’t dreaming! And yes, I am planning on trying out for your basketball team! :p!
“Glittery” eh! ๐
Will definitely treasure it!

Hmm. I’m usually dreaming. So maybe I need to confirm with Colin that this actually happened.

Haha! You go ahead and do that! There is more proof from my post today if that would help! ๐

Okay. Sorry I doubted you.

Wow! That was easy! Actually ask Colin, this may be one time where I can actually get him to admit that I am not delusional, that I am telling the truth. ๐

I was just messing with you. I’m not about to mess with Colin. He’ll come down on me like a merciless schoolmaster.

Haha! Scaredy cat! No, you just don’t want to give him a reason to say that I am not being delusional. Perhaps I will just ask him! ๐

A friend’s comment today brought me back to this page and I re-read the comments. Colin may have learned that I wasn’t 6feet tall when he saw me but I learned something to. You can beg and give him the best puppy dog face that you know and it still won’t sway him to give in to a plea of yours! I thought I may have a better chance of asking him for something being that we were face to face, but Nope! He just smiled! Didn’t find out even one tiny detail of what I wanted to know. He only shook his head and laughed. Oh the nerve! LOL! Someday I will find out! ๐

The man’s a rock. You better have your ducks in a row before you try to persuade him about something.

Haha!
That’s the problem, my ducks are always moving!
You would probably have more luck. Remember the time you asked him to please share one of those many story emails he had of me and he said sure and showed 3 of them!!

Yep. The rock sure moved that time.

But for me it doesn’t budge. Apparently you are magical , I think I need your unicorn. ๐

Okay, I been feeding him rainbow-colored cotton candy all day. Unicorns sure do eat a lot! So how soon can I expect the miracle? Patience may not be one of my greatest strengths. ๐

I think it’s a miracle already, that you were able to find rainbow-colored cotton candy. And that you caught a unicorn. So there you go. Already some miracles have been worked.
LikeLiked by 1 person
No miracle. You know of the Horse Whisperer, I am the Unicorn Whisperer, I called and she came. Very obedient. The rainbow colored cotton candy was easy, I just dyed it! Soooo….still waiting on the miracle. ๐

Keep waiting. You must be as patient as a unicorn.

This question you must ask of your unicorn. And please don’t expect an immediate answer.

Oh I have this growing feeling that I am gonna have about as much luck with the unicorn as I have of trying to get info out of Colin! Sigh! But …. one never knows! ๐

LOL! I went into my spam folder because Nancy mentioned that she thought one of her comments went in there and sure enough it had, but Guess what else I found in the spam dungeon? A comment from you!! I see you took your turn at being thrown into the dungeon as well, but I was nice and got you out! ๐ It was your answer about who I should feed the unicorn or Colin? Being that I hadn’t heard back from you, I fed the unicorn, who I am still waiting on to give me my miracle!

Well, unicorns don’t perform miracles for those who send me to the spam dungeon. But now that I’m out, I’ll have a talk with my monocorneous friend.

Well, talk about finding the gold nuggets amidst the dirt, sand and pebbles of life…this is a gold mine and I feel like I’ve struck it rich! I must admit that I was somewhat suspicious that your lengthy trip’s destination was to Canada, mostly because of Colin’s lessened posts at the same time, but this is much more than I anticipated. What a marvelous experience and fantabulous memories to keep forever. Beautiful photos of beautiful people, how kind of you to share! Thank-you!

Hi Ellen! Great to hear from you. Colin and I wondered if anyone would suspect anything about my trip and I am not surprised that you did my clever friend! Glad we could give you more than you expected though! ๐
Yup “fantabulous” is the perfect word to describe everything! Thanks! ๐๐
