Happy Tuesday! May it be filled with a joy that is displayed in the above picture. Joy is contagious, so spread it around! Think of how many people you may be able to influence by reflecting joy to them. Sing loud, and have a wonderful day! 🙂
- Did you do it? 🙂
Love the Dalai Lama poster and it’s saying ~> spot on!
Kitchens and Bathrooms don’t need to be beautiful to be functional. Our obsession with “updating” counter-tops and cabinets and appliances and light fixtures to “impress” visitors is a bit sick. Love your visitors and use your things.
And that top photo . . . PRICELESS!

I used to know an elderly Dutch couple and, upon entering their home, I asked if I should take my shoes off (which is a common expectation here). The lady’s response has stayed with me ever since. “Our home is here to serve you. You are not here to serve our home.” (R.I.P Anna and Jack)

Love that! Sounds like a wise couple.

They were a lovely couple who role modeled Christian values without mentioning the bible! 🙂

They didn’t have to, their life spoke it. Sounds like you were blessed to have them as friends!

You are so right , we spend tons of money on things that should be the least of our concerns. I have never forgotten what a friend told me years ago. Upon entering our house after being gone for awhile, she smiled and said, “I have always loved your beautiful home.” I thanked her but was a little confused, for we don’t have the finest furniture, etc. and then in her next breath she said, ” I always feel so cozy and warm here!” And that’s when I realized she didn’t mean beauty as in the things in our home, she meant beauty in how our home made her feel, and warmth filled my heart!

What a lovely compliment from your friend! I have to go with Calvin & Hobbes. Taking a nap and waiting till dinner is indeed good advice to make worries go away!

Thanks Meg! It really did touch me!

Love No.9, which reminded me of a simple philosophy about life … from a homeless man who spent much of his time on a park bench. “The secret to a happy life is to keep your mind full and your bowels empty. The problem today is that so many people seem to get it the wrong war around!”

Have to go with the Dalalamas wise words this week, loving people is important, not using them. I think it’s somethimg we all needs to remember this. Another way if heard this said people are an “end” in themselves and should never be used as a “means” to an end. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I do believe Number 9 has won the most popular vote this week! 🙂 You are right, it points out something so important! If only everyone could learn to put the Dhali Lama’s wise words to action. I like the other quote you shared to. Thanks!

Number 9 is a winner! 🙂 It is a powerful statement.
So did you do the math problem with the Minion? 🙂 I had posted that before, but you can never post the Minions too much, right. 🙂
Yes, loved the photo, glad you did too! You can’t help but smile when looking at it!

My hubby just did the math problem too as I read it to him, LOL! I made sure to have the pillows on my side, I got the “look” though. I told him he should have read my post earlier! 🙂

The Ralph Waldo Emerson quote : “For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness” were words that my Father offered to divert some squabbling sibling’s tempers. I have long forgotten the cause of our anger, but have never forgotten the quote! Emerson has always been a favorite of mine and I have repeated #2 often. Thank-you!

HI Ellen! So good to see you back!! I have always enjoyed Emerson too! And that is another great quote! Your Father was wise to use it in that manner, looks like it made an impression on you! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
