Some things we clutch so tightly onto, not realizing the treasure that awaits us, if we would only let go.
It only takes a spark to start a dream, and then it can travel through your heart like a train, building up excitement the closer you get to its destination.
For my 3rd “story”, I thought I would do something that I hadn’t done for a little bit. I will give the beginning of the story and then you , my wonderful readers, can join in with adding onto it. Exercise your creativity and have fun, this isn’t a test, no chance of wrong answers. Add your thoughts to the story below.
“Are you scared?”
“No, I just have this terrified look on my face because I am having fun, what do you think? I believe you should go first!”
No way am I going first!

After some negotiation, they both decided to go at the same time. And with that, they lifted their forks to the faces, and each barely took a nibble of the fried cow brains their mother had prepared for dinner.

LOL! I sure hope the image that painted in my mind leaves before its time for lunch! And I am thinking that my family should now be so grateful for all the meals that I prepared over the years, none of the meals consisted of cow brains, I can assure you!

It’s a delicacy for some. For others, like my father-in-law, it’s food they had to eat in order to survive during the Great Depression. When you’re hungry, you’re not as picky about your food preferences as you would otherwise be.

Oh Wow,I assumed that you had just pulled “cow brains” out of your imaginative mind!
You are right, when you are hungry your whole perspective changes about food.

Mum and Dad hadn’t been married very long when he said he fancied brains for supper, so Mum trotted along to the butcher. She was a bit squeamish but cooked them anyway. I never wanted to try!

I don’t blame you. I guess technically they can be called a “brain food”, but I doubt they make anyone any smarter.

I think it was because it was classed as offal along with kidneys, heart and liver, and therefore cheap meat. My parents were always on a strict budget but us kids never went without the important things.

Your Mum was very sweet to do that for your Dad and I wouldn’t have been tempted to try them either. I thought liver and onions was bad enough to eat as a child!

Love liver and onions, with cabbage and mash! First meal Hubby ever cooked for me. Wonderful!!!

My parents loved it too! 🙂 How sweet that you remember him making that for you.

We’d only be going out a week! When it was my turn to cook, I did a throw everything in pizza with what I found in my SIL’s cupboard. Luckily it tunred out OK, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This thread is abhorrent to the vegetarian in me. 🙄
BTW: You can get Mad Cow Disease from cow brains. Just saying! 😯

If that happened I’d get very mad. And have to count to an hundred.

I hear you, I’m Vegan…but I understand too that sometimes we don’t have a choice when it comes to survival and some places in the world they’re lucky to be able to get any sort of nourishment to satiate their hunger.

“Fine. You’ll be right behind me?”
“Yeah, right. But you first okay?”
Max nodded and jumped from the plane. Anne watched as he fell, watched as his chute opened. At last, she turned from the open door, knowing the plane would land soon.

Then, before she could say anything else, Jodi pushed Carolyn through the mysterious glowing door, closing it quietly behind her. Jodi smiled knowing in her heart, Carolyn hard tears of joy in her eyes as she hugged the brother she thought she would never see again.

No way! Dad’s really mad at us this time. *Takes a big breath* We might as well face the music together, since we worked together to take apart his motorcycle.

“Happy to oblige. I don’t believe in ghosts anyway.” With that, Marcia stepped over the threshold and disappeared from Lucy’s view.
Left on the listing porch, Lucy mused. “To follow or not to follow? That is the question.”

It was your idea, to walk on hot coals. You show me how it’s done. After all, you said you’ve been practicing…go ahead and show me how it’s done.
“You’re right, I’m the only one of us who knows what their doing…I’ll go first! ” That was all I needed to hear as I saw my opportunity to disappear into the crowd of onlookers as Maria headed towards the pit of coals. I’d seen a used book store on our walk here and knew where I could happily spend my time finding my own special adventure!
