Tis’ the Season for Secrets and Surprises…..some secrets shared….some kept confidential!
Not about when you put up your Tree or what is under the Tree…..but the love that fills your heart all year round!
Music is in the air….Music for quiet reflection….Music that makes your heart dance…..
What are some Christmas songs that create a December Dance in your heart….or ones that create a peaceful contentment as you sit cherishing December moments?
Here’s my fave:

I cannot abide Paul McCartney’s Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime, or any of the repetitive ‘old favourites’ by Slade,Wizard and Band Aid any more.
But The Poques and Kirsty McCall’s Fairy Tale of New York always raises a smile. Love the line ‘Merry Christmas my a*se’.
We need new Christmas songs and the nearest we got was Leona Lewis a couple of years ago.
Don’t get me wrong, I Love Christmas and all the old traditional hymns, but having to listen to the same dross every time we went into one particular shop at the festive season for THREE YEARS made me want to put my fist through their sound system!
🙂 Please don’t hold it against me, I’m not anti-Christmas at all.

No worries!! I will not hold anything against you, I like your honesty! 🙂
I have to say I really like Paul McCartney’s song, but I can relate to what you mean about there being some songs that you just are tired of. There are 2 Classic Christmas songs that I feel that way about, though I am sure there are many that would disagree with me!
The first is “White Christmas”, Yes, I love snow for Christmas but I really get tired of the song! As for the 2nd one, as soon as I hear the ” Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…” my hand changes the station!!
There are sooo many wonderful Christmas songs that I don’t know why it is that shops seem to only have a very select few that they play over and over again. That would drive me crazy if I worked at a place like that.

My poor husband has to put up with my love for Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” – but I love it so much!

I love all Christmas music except when it is played in September. 🙂 I have a fondness for Grandma got run over by a reindeer, and it isn’t the season if I don’t watch White Christmas at least once.

I agree with you! Christmas music is made for December! 🙂 LOL on your song. My sister has a stuffed old lady on a rocket and she rocks as Grandma got run over by a reindeer plays! 🙂

Fantastic Friday’s Super Short Stories! The second story might have been written for me?! I’ll not even attempt to enlighten you about when Christmas music should appear. Fortunately, my soap box is packed away! Thank-you!!

I’ve always loved the David Bowie and Bing Crosby version of Little Drummer Boy. A more recent favourite Christmas song is Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes.
