Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there were a group of young Mommies! Young Mommies who lived in several different States and 1 who lived in the outbacks of Australia! Young Mommies from all kinds of different backgrounds. There was one thing that bonded them together. They all had babies in the year 2000! Well almost all of them.
I was late coming to the party! My friend kept talking about her “Mommies board” and how much she loved it. My husband and I still had not owned a computer at that time. Remember I said it was a long, long time ago. We were still in the dark ages!
When we did make the purchase of our first computer and we got online, one of the first things I did was join my friend’s online “Mommies” group. Not only was I a little late to the party, I also didn’t follow the rules. I had a 1999 and a 2001 baby. So yes the group bent the rules a little bit just for me.
I joined the group when my oldest was close to 3 years old. I am thrilled to say that out of the 10 of us in the group, there are still 9 of us that keep in touch!! We have been through so much together, even if it has been all online! So many different stages of our “babies” growing up and just everything that life has thrown at us. Even though we may be far apart, we have been there for each other!
It makes me think of my online friends that I have met through blogging and formed friendships with even though we haven’t met face to face!
There may be a lot of things that I dislike about technology, but I will say that the friendships that I have made online have been the best thing that has come out of this electronic age that we are now living in.
One of my “Mommy” friends was just messaging me tonight. She is from Oregon but they are planning on coming out to Pennsylvania in April! So excited! This will be our first time meeting each other in person!
I was blessed to meet a dear blogger friend in person this past year. Oh the hugs felt so good! We had a lovely time! I had planned on meeting another dear blogger friend this year as well, but unfortunately life got in the way. I am going to do my best to make it happen in 2018! That will definitely be a shining moment of the New Year!
It is the season of Thanksgiving. I am so very thankful for my online friends and what a special place they hold in my heart. I make a toast! A toast to all my Amazing friends! Whether you be near of far, whether I have chatted with you face to face or only by the use of technology. You all play a special role in my life and for that I thank you!
Wow, you are so lucky to be part of a group that stayed together so long!

That’s great so many of you keep in touch. You’re right the best part of technology is how easy it has made connecting with far away friends and family. 🙂

I will toast you with a glass in each hand! A lovely post about a special group of friends. Friends are the flowers in the garden of life…I must have read that somewhere. So, here’s to friends well met, those we haven’t met and those we may never meet! Thank-you!
