Good Morning all! A friend of mine posted this on FB and I just had to share it on here for a certain blogger , you know who you are π And for the other dear bloggers who were commenting on my post yesterday. So I am doing a quick survey. Tell me, when the calendar says its Spring, but the weather is like Winter do you rebel against your hoodies and sweaters and pull out your neglected t shirts and flip flops?Β Or do you do the thing that makes sense and dress for Winter weather?
My parents are on the way home from Florida today, telling us to warm it up π Gonna be an adjustment to go from 80 degrees toΒ 40 degrees! Make that 30’s now, its a Awesome 31 degrees this morning! Hey that’s better than single digits!Β See I can have a positive attitude about the weather π
Well, I packed for a week away based loosely on the fact that it is April (meaning who needs warm clothes) and that backfired big time. I had to dig out an old winter coat and trudge through snow in shoes not made for snow. π¦
It’s one thing to rebel against 50’s but 30 is too cold to make a statement.

OOPs sorry, yeah trudging through snow in shoes not made for snow would not be fun. So rebelling by wearing flip flops in the 30’s is not wise?? LOL!

When the calendar says its Spring, but the thermometer is at 0C/32F, and the trees branches are waving at us we know that, with the wind, it will feel well below freezing point. When we plan on taking Ray out for his 1-2 hour walk, we either dress for the reality of what is outside, or risk becoming a statistic! Such is life on the outskirts of Toronto at this time of year. We have been known to go straight from Winter to Summer over the course of a weekend! This year… we shall see! π

This would be why I don’t live in Canada π Yes, I would be bundling up to if I was going for that long of walk and not wanting to become a statistic! Hoping warm weather comes for both of us soon, but no,not wanting it to go straight to Summer. For then will be complaining about being too hot! Can’t be satisfied. This morning I grabbed just a jacket for I did not intend to be outside long and tired of my winter coat. BUT forgot I needed to stop for gas. Let’s say that I pumped just enough gas to get me to where I was going and just maybe got in my van thinking, “Yeah, Colin is right, be sensible!” Ha!But hey my heater works real well in the van so didn’t take too long to warm up π

So I have to share what happened last night. My dear daughter is sitting on the couch in shorts and a t-shirt with a blanket on and asked if we could turn up the heat π My husband is like, Umm…what about putting on a sweatshirt and pants? See I get it honestly! Or I guess that would be the other way around…Haha! Poor girl.

That sounds like teenager logic! π

Thanks! See why I wear a t shirt and jacket in 30 degrees weather, their illogic has messed my brain up. LOL! It all makes sense now, so now I do deserve some sympathy. Haha!

Yup… when a teenager’s logic starts making sense, you deserve sympathy (and serious counseling)! π

Thanks for the sympathy, but you could have stopped at that line. LOL! Fun to see what wit my online friends have π

Whoever said “Laughter is the best medicine” must have experienced teenagers, because when logic does not prevail (in most cases with teenagers), all you have left is maniacal laughter. It is also good to remember that their attention span is proportionate to the amount of money you are giving them, and don’t delude yourself into thinking that you have experience on your side in any debate. PARENTS KNOW NOTHING according to the average teenager, but that’s alright because they apparently have peers that know everything! Enjoy the ride but hold on tight because it can get quite rough. π

Haha about that quote, tis true! Yes, very true about their attention span and money and how we went from knowing all to knowing nothing in such a few short years!! YUP , its a good thing I am blessed with humor to maintain my sanity. Then again my husband may differ on whether I am actually maintaining it. LOL! I am hanging on, But if this ride gets anymore wild I will hope that they let me have a lap top in my rubber room, so that I can at least keep blogging π

Well if you need any help in: Emotional abuse; physical abuse, unwanted pregnancy, abortion, crack/cocaine addiction, theft under $5000.00, jail term, numerous rehab programs, single mum support, coast to coast cycling project and other generally delusional goals… just let me know. Been there (all of them)… and still smiling! π

Wow! I think you may have just made me speechless and my wit leave! Here I was almost going to put the line down in my last comment that I probably have you beat in dealing with teenage issues. I will take that back now π Tho I have been dealing with some of the issues that you mentioned and so yes may be able to use advice. Not only have you kept smiling, but you bring smiles to others also by your posts. It is encouraging to know that you made it through and you are not living in a rubber room, right? π

Nope…. never been in a rubber room, nor been prescribed tranquilizers. I have however learned so much about dealing with kids who go “astray”!
Lesson number 1 (really important) – You should always love the individual. You don’t have to love what they do. It is really important to understand the clear distinction between the two, otherwise you could easily destroy your relationship with him/her.

LOL about not needing tranquilizers! Yes, your wiseness comes through again, is that a word? π Oh well, it is now. My husband and I do know how important it is for them to know how deeply we love them and I am glad to say that the love bond between us is strong! You are right you have to separate! And you also have to realize how sometimes the hardest things you have to do you do because of that strong love! Yeah, remember my post , Dropping the mask…you are making it come unveiled some. I will say that there are some things you didn’t mention that I am dealing with now and I am NOT hoping that you have gone through them also, think you been through enough!

Well if you need to “unload” or get feedback on potential options for some situation, then please feel free to email me. I won’t have any answers as I don’t know your specific conditions, but I can probably offer a few suggestions for you guys to consider. Confidentiality is assured. You should never feel isolated just because you are dealing with particularly sensitive issues.

Will do. If you are interested in the mean time you can go to my site and look up some old posts of mine. They were from this past Spring and Summer. I didn’t post much over that time except for allegory’s like these. “The Race”, “The Power of the Sun”, “Love Whispers at Night”, “The Dance” and “Until the Curtain Falls”

It’s funny JR in Edmonton, AB. When it’s 6 degrees Celsius in Fall we think that is so cold and have gloves and light winter coats on. But when it’s 6 degrees in Spring I gauruntee you there are guys out there and a lot of them, wearing shorts and sandals (hopefully without socks).
Additionally, we will go to other places like California for instance, some winters and and they have winter coats and gloves on and we’re wearing our spring clothes because it’s nearly twenty degrees Celcius outside and you don’t need jackets or sweaters in that temperature in Canada. I suppose, many people in California, Nevada, Arizona etc. are used to hotter weather. Hope your weekend was good, and the weather nice.

Well…it is cold, gray, damp, and the pellet stove is roaring and I have layers on. At my age, I dress for the temperature regardless what the calendar says. π But, I long for a warm day, t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops.
