Good Morning! The cold chill is in the air this morning, but hopefully these African Proverbs warm your heart! I had a hard time picking just a few, so you have a longer list today of quotes. I didn’t think you would mind 🙂 I know I did some proverbs before, hopefully I didn’t repeat myself with some this time! Which one speaks to you? What meaning do you get from it? Some make you think a little more than others. Enjoy! And as always, thanks for reading!
- “A camel never sees its own hump.”
- “If you want to move mountains tomorrow, you have to start by lifting stones today.”
- “To one who doesn’t know, a small garden is a forest.”
- “You can out distance that which is running after you, but you cannot out distance that which is running inside of you.”
- “Don’t insult the alligator until you cross the river.” ( that one I just had laugh at, makes sense :))
- “A tiger doesn’t need to boast that it is a tiger.”
- “Rain can soak a leopard’s skin, but it does not wash out its spots.”
- “For the beauty of the rose, we must also water the thorns.”
- “Black or white, the footprints left in the dirt are the same.”
- “Don’t set sail following someone else’s star.”
good ones C! I think my faves today are 2, 3, and 8. I think #3 especially makes me think – and I kinda love it. Happy Day to you friend!

Thanks Jodi! #3 is actually one of my favorites, I just was really drawn to it. My others were #8 and #7. Of course tho I like them all or I wouldn’t have posted them. LOL! But yes there are always quotes that stand out to me more than some others. Happy day to you also my friend and don’t make any alligators mad! 🙂

Oh all of these are good! I think #2 & #4 are the ones that speak to me the most this week, especially the moving stones to move a mountain. I have trouble remembering that sometimes. 😐
