Yesterday was a rainy day, the rain came down in torrents. One of those days you were glad to be inside with nowhere to go as you watched out the window at the rain dancing on the street. I also felt led to go back in time and put on some old music of Lionel Richie and Air Supply. At first my 16 year old daughter who was on the couch groaned when she heard the beginning of the music, but then shocker, she liked it! 🙂 We enjoyed just relaxing in the living room together as the different songs played, a peaceful moment.
I had to post on FB about it, knowing that I would hear back from my dear friend who really doesn’t like Air Supply. I know you all are shocked, aren’t you! How can you NOT like them, right? 🙂 She came back commenting on Neil Diamond, we can agree on him 🙂 Reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite movies. “There are 2 kinds of people in this world, those who like Neil Diamond and those who don’t.” The guy goes on to say that his wife was in the group of those who didn’t like Neil Diamond and that was why she left him. He said this while laying on a psychiatrist couch and the psychiatrist is saying, “So she didn’t leave you for A,B,C,or D reasons of why you are seeing me, but because of that??” The guy had to admit that maybe that wasn’t the only reason 🙂
Anyway there are SO MANY different types of music out there and so many different types of people; I am glad to say that you don’t have to like my kind of music to be my friend 🙂 My dear friend never knew she would be brought into my post like this, but no worries my dear, I can forgive your brief lapse of judgment for not liking Air Supply. Now my dear faithful readers, let me hear from you. Do you love the beautiful music of Air Supply or do you compare it to a toothache like my dear friend 🙂 No fear of judgement from me! And how about Neil Diamond??
Good Morning friends! Today I decided to do quotes by Rumi, I have had some of his quotes before and really liked them so wanted to gather more. ENJOY and may your Tuesday be filled with things that make you smile 🙂
1. “Even after all this time, The Sun never says to the Earth, “You owe me!”, Look what happens with a love like that, it Lights up the whole sky!”
2.” Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open?” ( it is sad at how many people are like this! The imprison themselves in their souls.)
3.”Be a lamp, a lifeboat or a ladder!”
4.” A candle loses none of its light by lighting another candle!” (Go light someone’s candle today! Yours will shine brighter :))
5.” Open your hands, if you want to be held.”
6.” Maybe you are searching among the branches, for what only appears in the roots!”

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Vivid.” I have always loved stained glass windows and being at the Notre Dame Cathedral was a moment to remember! It was beautiful!

Can’t reach destination, without the journey!
The journey isn’t always easy, but the destination will be worth it I assure you!
13 years ago I felt the first kicks of life inside of me, it felt like a butterfly flitting around inside me. Maybe that is why you fell in love with butterflies 🙂 I fell in love with you from the very first moment that I knew you were in my stomach. I prayed for you and I dreamed about who you would be. What would you be like? I had no doubt that to me, you would be the best daughter ever! Perfect, no… how could you be perfect coming from imperfect parents. But perfect for us, YES! And you know what, I was right!! Probably the most right I been about anything in my life!
You brought so much laughter as you grew! OH the things you would say and do! You had a fighting spirit at the young age of 2 and strong will that at times I had wished would be a little weaker. More easier for Mom and Dad! A affectionate spirit, knowing when I needed a hug. You had a love for animals and the land that went beyond your age. Is it a wonder that we found out your name meant land?? WE had chosen your name cause your Grammy suggested it and we liked it, but oh it fit you so well! A love for space and land is what you had. “Don’t Fence Me In”, could have been your song; tho it was way before your time! A home in the country is what you desired.
Oh my precious girl, how fast time flies! You kept growing and amazing us with a talent for any sport you tried and excelling in school! Your mind was ALWAYS thinking and what it would come up with would sometimes amaze us. Your comprehension exceeded your age and my dear you taught us things.
The love that is in my heart is ever growing and at times feels like it will burst. When you shed those first tears of heartbreak at a young age, my heart broke. I had a glimpse of what a journey this would be. How as you grew a band-aid and kiss would not be enough to take away the boo-boos of your life. I prayed I would have the strength to get through those times when they came.
A time has come that has tested my strength greatly, but my dear I will always be here for you! And now I am thankful for your strong will. For your persistence, the time when you steadily worked 3 hours trying to excavate dinosaur bones from a kit we got you at the age of 10. Your strong will and persistence gives you now the strength you need to get through this battle and get through it you will! My heart throbs with love for you and as one of my very favorite quotes says, “If I had to choose between loving you or breathing, I would say , “I Love you!” as I took my last breath!”
It’s a rainy day today and they are calling for rain all week, so that is what inspired my quotes today. Enjoy and remember the best rain quote of all. Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to Dance in the Rain!!
1. When it rains look for rainbows, when its dark, look for stars!
2. Storms make trees take deeper roots! Dolly Parton
3. I love thunderstorms, cause sometimes nature can’t handle the pressure, because sometimes the sky explodes!
4.Worrying is like walking around with an umbrella waiting for it to rain! Wiz Khalifa
5.Raindrops softly tapping the window is nature singing us a sweet lullaby.
6.No relationship is all sunshine, but 2 people can share one umbrella and survive the storm together!
PS. Had to add this little tidbit. As I was gathering up my quotes to put on this, I had Pandora playing. The 2 songs that came on were Over the Rainbow and Here Comes the Sun 🙂 Hope you have some sun and rainbows in your day!
HI! Doing Monday’s Snapshot Memories a little different today. Didn’t have time to go through snapshots so I started thinking of the wonderful things that we picture in our minds that make us feel good! Hopefully you can envision them through my words and enjoy!
Come take a walk with me today. We will start by the pasture, can you smell the fresh hay? Do you see the beautiful wildflowers poking up their heads and swaying in the wind? Look to your right and you will see a newborn foal nuzzling her Mom. Come walk further down to the creek with me. See the little boy in the tire swing swinging from the Weeping Willow tree. He is laughing with glee as his Daddy pushes him high. His sister is wading in the creek trying to catch that tadpole that keeps darting away. Lets walk along the creek and see where it leads.
Oh don’t miss that bright blue butterfly that just flew by! Hear the bluebirds chirping in the trees, it looks like some eggs just hatched!
Now we are coming to a dirt road, see the dust blow in the air as you walk along. The looming Oak trees are making a nice shade covering as we walk. Oh, up on that hill, do you see it? What a stunning house, the colors are so bright and unique. Do you think anyone is home? I want to take a closer look, come with me. Wow! Look at the intricate designs. If it looks this nice outside, I am dying to know what it looks like inside!! Should we knock, do you think they dare would let us in?? HMMMM……..this is strange, I see no door! Hurry, there has to be a door in the back! What, you see none in the back either??? What have we found? A house with an invisible door? What mystery abounds??
