Which side are you on??

Yesterday was a rainy day, the rain came down in torrents. One of those days you were glad to be inside with nowhere to go as you watched out the window at the rain dancing on the street. I also felt led to go back in time and put on some old music of Lionel Richie and Air Supply. At first my 16 year old daughter who was on the couch groaned when she heard the beginning of the music, but then shocker, she liked it! πŸ™‚Β  We enjoyed just relaxing in the living room together as the different songs played, a peaceful moment.

I had to post on FB about it, knowing that I would hear back from my dear friend who really doesn’t like Air Supply. I know youΒ  all are shocked, aren’t you! How can you NOT like them, right? πŸ™‚ She came back commenting on Neil Diamond, we can agree on him πŸ™‚ Reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite movies. “There are 2 kinds of people in this world, those who like Neil Diamond and those who don’t.” The guy goes on to say that his wife was in the group of those who didn’t like Neil Diamond and that was why she left him. He said this while layingΒ  on a psychiatrist couch and the psychiatrist is saying, “So she didn’t leave you for A,B,C,or D reasons of why you are seeing me, but because of that??” The guy had to admit that maybe that wasn’t the only reason πŸ™‚

Anyway there are SO MANY different types of music out there and so many different types of people;Β  I am glad to say that you don’t have to like my kind of music to be my friend πŸ™‚ My dear friend never knew she would be brought into my post like this, but no worries my dear, I can forgive your brief lapse of judgment for not liking Air Supply. Now my dear faithful readers, let me hear from you. Do you love the beautiful music of Air Supply or do you compare it to a toothache like my dear friend πŸ™‚ No fear of judgement from me! And how about Neil Diamond??

  1. Neil Diamond sang so many songs I loved to hear in my teens,”Forever in Blue Jeans” is one of them.
Air Supply has some good music too. Anyway, it sounded like a great way to spend a rainy day!

  2. Being Australian and a romantic I love Air Supply. I bought their greatest hit album when it came out. I was 21 and thought I was so cool. My favourite songs are: Two Less Lonely People in the World, All Out of Love and Every Woman in the World. Great songs, great memories. What a great way to spend a rainy day with your daughter.
